Gillienne. 28. I'm a mom, nurse, artist. love my kids, my boyfriend, tattoos, piercings, art, my frenchies. I'm a military brat so I grew up overseas and now I'm in Oklahoma...sometimes not such a great thing. I'm not religious, I don't need an imaginary friend to tell me what to do, I do have morals without a god.

“Atheist are routinely asked how people will know not to rape and murder without religion telling them not to do it, especially a religion that backs up the orders with threats of hell. Believers, listen to me carefully when I say this: When you use this argument, you terrify atheists. We hear you saying that the only thing standing between you and Ted Bundy is a flimsy belief in a supernatural being made up by pre-literate people trying to figure out where the rain came from. This is not very reassuring if you’re trying to argue from a position of moral superiority.”

Teenagers say they want to eat junk now while their metabolism is fast, because when they are older they won’t be able to have that junk. Well I’d rather learn good eating habits now, rather than later. And be fit my entire life. Not just when I’m young.

I’ve been to my step daughter’s high school functions and seriously not many of them have the fast metabolism to burn off the junk, most of them are extremely overweight and I thought I was overweight as a teen being a size 9-13, these girls are at least 18 and bigger. I think its really sad.

Uhg.
I cannot even handle it when people say “I go to church” all smug-like.
Even worse: when people whine about how terrible they are because they “haven’t been to church in weeks!”
Seriously. Shut up. What you do on Sunday mornings doesn’t tell me or anyone else what kind of person you are.

I think the opposite of this, if someone is all churchy I figure they are a child molester or something…not a great way of thinking but it pops in my head. Especially when my son was going to a church after school for some tutoring. Had a talk with him about making sure that he isn’t alone with any adults there, always stay with the other kids…

“I have a daughter who reminds me too much of what I used to be, full of love and joy, kissing every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm. And that terrifies me to the point to where I can barely function.”

“‘I love you’ means that I accept you for the person that you are, and that I do not wish to change you into someone else. It means that I will love you and stand by you even through the worst of times. It means loving you even when you’re in a bad mood, or too tired to do the things I want to do. It means loving you when you’re down, not just when you’re fun to be with. ‘I love you’ means that I know your deepest secrets and do not judge you for them, asking in return that you do not judge me for mine. It means that I care enough to fight for what we have and that I love you enough not to let go. It means thinking of you, dreaming of you, wanting and needing you constantly, and hoping you feel the same way for me.”
